    Christine Blaine teaches inorganic, general chemistry, and advanced laboratory courses. She is also active in teaching and mentoring students in senior thesis.

    Prof. Blaine also serves as a Carthage Noyce Scholarship Program Co-Principal Investigator — an area she has brought expertise to due to her science outreach work with elementary and middle schools in the Kenosha area. She is committed to doing engaging and active science with all children to foster curiosity and a passion for science. She also serves as a liaison between KUSD schools and Carthage College.



    In 2010, she won the Distinguished Teaching Award at Carthage. Before coming to Carthage, she was a visiting assistant professor of chemistry at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.

    Prof. Blaine is a member of the American Chemical Society. She earned her B.A. degree from the College of St. Benedict and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Minnesota. She joined the Carthage faculty in 1995.
